BUILDING A NEW LIFE

“I had a stressed first pregnancy, and since I knew I was going to be a mom, at the beginning of every month, I prayed to the Mother of the Undoer of Knots to give me a safe place for my baby and me. That’s the first impression I had when I entered in GSM: my prayers were answered. Many people helped me to build a new life and I’m so thankful for that. I’ll first of all thank God for the beautiful gift of life, for my baby and for every good person He ever sent to enrich my life. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!”

HOMELESS, WITH A DAUGHTER, AND PREGNANT

“When I was pregnant and had a 6 year old daughter, I was homeless and didn’t know where to go or what direction to take; I came to live at Guiding Star. That was the best thing that happened to me. I enrolled my daughter in school and I had my son, while at Guiding Star.  I found daycare and was able to pursue my nursing career. I am currently working doing home healthcare, my children are doing well in school and I love my new home. Thank you Guiding Star for leading me on a new path.”

“I am a twenty-one-year-old mother of three girls. We spent almost the last two years of our lives in the safety and comfort of Guiding Star. Their parenting classes showed me how to love and bond with my children and how to be a better mom. The staff and volunteers steered me in the right direction and taught me how to be independent. I now have a full-time job, a savings and checking account, and my girls and I have our own three-bedroom house in a nice neighborhood. With God, all things are possible. Thanks Guiding Star!”
