Suggestion of What to Say:

Hello Representative, my name is __________ and I live in _____________ county, here in Pennsylvania. I was so glad to see that Representative Knowles has introduced H.R. 387 A Resolution for Censure of Brian Sims, and as of now the bill has 32 co-sponsors. I believe that it is critical that Mr. Sims be held accountable within his own Legislative body for his reprehensible behavior. His harassment and bullying of female American citizens who were exercising their Constitutionally protected rights as they stood for the lives of the unborn, as well as his dangerous doxxing of three minors, displays conduct exceedingly unbecoming of an elected official. He shames himself and disgraces our state.

I am asking you to please support this resolution by co-sponsoring the bill, and that you fulfill your responsibilities as a member of the Leadership by bringing this legislation to the floor of the Assembly for a vote.

You have told the people of Pennsylvania that you are a true pro-life, conservative leader. Please do your duty now and take a stand for the First Amendment and for life.

Thank you,
A Concerned Citizen of Pennsylvania

ACTION ALERT—HOLD PA REP. BRIAN SIMS ACCOUNTABLE!

Will you join us as we call on the leadership of both political parties in the Pennsylvania General Assembly to hold Representative Sims accountable—publicly, specifically, and on the record—for his harassment of citizens exercising their First Amendment right? It is our right and our duty as Pennsylvanians to hold our own elected officials to a higher standard. This disgraceful behavior will not be tolerated in our beloved state. Click here to read the entire action alert, which includes contact information and suggested content for a letter or phone call to your local representative.

OPPOSE ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL

It’s time to oppose assisted suicide! Senator Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery) is working to pass a bill that would allow terminally ill individuals to administer medication themselves that would end their own lives. The bill would also require the person’s physician, as well as an independent physician, to certify this decision.

Click here to read Senator Daylin Leach’s op-ed

(originally published on March 30, 2019 on PennLive.com) pertaining to the re-introduction of his “Death with Dignity” bill.

The Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia believes in the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death. Click here to find contact information for your state Senator.

Call your state Senator to urge him or her to oppose Senator Daylin Leach’s bill that would legalize assisted suicide in the state of Pennsylvania!

SUPPORT THE

“BORN-ALIVE PROTECTIONACT”

(HR 962)

The “Born-Alive Abortion Survivor’s Protection Act” (HR 962) is before the United States House of Representatives. The text of the bill states, in part, the following:

1.) “If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws.”

2.) “Any health care practitioner present at the time the child is born alive shall:

a. exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age

b. ensure that the child born alive is immediately transported and admitted to a hospital.”

This bill is not controversial. It says nothing about abortion itself but simply mandates that if a child is born alive following an abortion procedure that he or she is due the same Constitutional protections as any other child, and that he or she will receive appropriate health care.

Unfortunately, the Democrat majority in the US House refuses to bring this bill to the floor for a vote. In light of this, on April 2nd, Representatives Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Ann Wagner (R-MO) introduced a discharge petition to force a vote on the bill. The discharge petition needs 218 signatures and to date (4/9/19) it has 198.

We encourage you to call your U.S. Representative and ask him or her to sign the Scalise/Wagner discharge petition and support HR 962. Click here to view the entire directory of those serving in the US House of Representatives.

There are two things to keep in mind when you do call:

1.) Staffers who answer the phone may not be familiar with HR 962 and they quite likely will not be aware of the discharge petition – you will likely have to educate them.

2.) Staffers will likely tell you that their representative is “pro-choice” and therefore will not support either the discharge petition or the bill. You need to inform them that neither has to do with abortion itself, but address what happens when children are born alive. If they still balk, an effective question to ask is, “Does Representative (name) support infanticide?”

Call your representative’s office once per day and ask him/her to sign the discharge petition and support HR 962. Let’s flood these Congressional offices with calls in support of life!

URGE YOUR LEGISLATOR TO CO-SPONSOR DOWN SYNDROME BILL

Please call (this is typically best) and email your state representative and urge him or her to co-sponsor the Down Syndrome Protection Act, being introduced by Rep. Kate Klunk and Speaker Mike Turzai. The bill would ban abortion for the reason of a Down Syndrome diagnosis. Click here to view the co-sponsorship memo. If you don’t know who your state representative is, or you need contact information, click here to visit the Pennsylvania Legislature’s website.
